About XQD
XQD is the high-end card for cameras.
Keeping in mind that size isn't always everything, this new standard offers not just consistent high throughput, but also added physical resilience and data corruption protection.
Because it's such a new format, there aren't a ton of options to choose from, but what's there has plenty of features to differentiate between models.
Sony and Lexar are two of the primary manufacturers of the cards, so it's no surprise that they each have at least one worthwhile reader on the market.
Sony's top model tends to run hot and consumes a lot of electricity, but as long as you're careful and only use it when needed, that may be a sacrifice you're ready to make for a 2-in-1 adapter.
If all you need is the XQD part, our cheaper model CR311 is the way to go.
